The two longest standing rivals in the BSL couldn't possibly end their season without a true derby between the two clubs. With the truncated schedule this year due to Covid-19, Alamo City and Capital District only played once this year. It ended in a tie. Neither owner could stand for that and have a agreed to a Best of 3 showdown for the BSL Classic.
As the winners of the 2019 BSL Classic, Capital District will host the first and thrid matches of the series. Alamo City will be host the second match. Regardless if there's a winner after two matches, all three will be played. You have to remember, when these two legendary clubs face, you never know what's going to happen.
Schedule:
Match 1: Oct 6th to 11th
Match 2: Oct 14th to 18th
Match 3: Oct 20th to 25th
Traditional BSL rules will be followed with the following exception. Since this a non-BSL series, a special trialist rule will be added. For the duration of the series, each team is allowed
to select 2 players not on a current BSL roster. In exchange for
the signing, to be in compliane of BSL rosters, a player will be ruled
ineligble for the rest of the derby. The ineligble player will be
listed in the reserve section of the team's lineup. If
a trailist player is selected by an active BSL team, the player will
become ineligible and must be dropped prior to the start of the next
match. If this happens, a replacement can be selected following the
selection rules as the original.
The series is a best of 3 and the 1st club to 2 wins is the victor. In the case of a tie in the head to head standings after the 3rd match, the following tie-breakers will be used:
1) Extra-Time - All points scored by non-used bench players in the 3rd match are added
2) Penalty Kicks - Number of individual players who scored in the 3rd match are totaled
3) Aggregate Score of the three matches including the Extra-Time of Match 3
4) Most Away Goals between Match 1 and Match 2
