Aloha Kamara

After finishing last season as Team MVP, Capital District have traded Kei Kamara to expansion side Insulani Hawaii. In return the Gunners receive Hawaii's 1st round draft pick, the 9th overall selection. "Kei had a phenomenal season last year, and we considered keeping him as our 3rd Designated Player. But in the end, we decided that it wasn't cost effective for us," General Manager Michael Miller said. "This is an excellent opportunity to reinvent ourselves while staying competitive. We wish Kei the best, and are looking forward to the upcoming draft."

Gunners break silence

Earlier today, the Capital District Gunners unveiled their new crest to the fans. While sharing many similarities to the old crest, the new one is a much simpler design. "Originally the cannon wasn't going to be included, but while our test group liked the new crest, they also asked that it be included. We were more than happy to oblige, and feel it really adds to the new design."

Team management was also questioned about last week's trade of Teal Bunbury and the claims the team let him go for below market value. "What's market value?" General Manager Michael Miller replied to the question. "Yes, Teal is a good young talent but look at our roster. While he did get consideration for one of our DP slots, there were too many guys ahead of him. We took the best offer on the table and moved a player for something when we could've very well have gotten nothing."

When pressed on who would be joining Fredy (Montero) as the team's second designated player, Miller simply smiled. "That'll be revealed shortly. The Management is simply waiting on a situation to play out, but we're 99% sure on who'll become the other cornerstone of this franchise."

Speculation is still running rampant in the Tri-Cities as the list of potential D.P.'s is still lengthy. Much like last year, everyone has their own theories, and the team is being tight lipped as usual. Could the situation referred to be the Galaxy's efforts to sign fan favorite Juan Pablo Angel? Or could it be about David Beckham and his desire to play on loan in the EPL? Also, where does that leave Omar Bravo and Alvaro Saborio?
